Lessons From Autumn

Lessons From Autumn

Fall teaches us by example that all great things have to come to an end and even the most beautiful and colorful leaves must be shed off the trees rendering them fully exposed to their bare trunks. For many of us this can appear like a painful process of letting go.

Usually we resist change; yet the spirit of Yoga is exactly the opposite. It opens a path of non-resistance and full acceptance of what is, of who we are, where we are and who we are with. In so doing, pretty effortlessly, we embrace all which evolves in front of us with an open heart and mind without offering resistance to anything.

By holding too long to unnecessary memories, grudges, sources of resentment and negative feelings and emotions which may cloud our existence sometimes, only for just a few hours; but other times, for many years if not a lifetime, we make ourselves travel way too heavy and loaded. We unconsciously carry on so many burdens which we could simply choose to let go of instead. Yoga teaches us to let go of all that weight & to shed all those dry leaves: to release the stress, to let go of the pain and to forgive ourselves and others. Let’s embrace Nature’s call to freedom by letting go!
